From the 2000s onwards, the first, but few, physical publications in book format on local curatorship were published. This was a time when new institutions dedicated to contemporary art emerged, and consequently new collections; a framework in which the figure of the curator, although still the subject of controversy, was consolidated both in the institutional and independent spheres. This work analyses the specific publications on curatorship that emerged between 2002 and 2017 in Argentina from a critical perspective, and attempts to contribute to an appreciation of the advances in studies on curatorship at a local level.
